I had to ask how does he maintain a fit lifestyle? Continue reading Jesse's Fitness Files interview to learn more about how he has made being fit and healthy apart of his life.
NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?
JK: I have always been involved in sports and can't remember a time when I wasn't active. There was a time, however, after I retired from baseball that I had to make the choice to continue to workout. Weight training was always a part of the profession but now I had to stay fit to feel good rather than to be good.
NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
JK: One of the reasons why I workout is so I can eat and drink whatever I want. I love food and wine. I drink an enormous amount of water everyday.
NMF: How do you change your body? What are your fitness favorites?
JK: As a former athlete, I feel like being active is ingrained in body. I can't sleep at night if I don't feel like I expended enough energy throughout the day. So basically I'm motivated by sleep.
I've been roughly the same size and weight for the last decade. So I haven't had to change my body, I just have to stay positive as I get older because certain things are starting to hurt. I love to play basketball before I workout. It's a great way to warm up without getting bored on a treadmill or stair master.
