Supermodel Julie Henderson known for being in Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions several times, she also modeled for Behind the Velvet Rope in 2002 and recently launched her first make up collaboration with Au Naturale Cosmetics. Ever wondered how a model keeps slim, trim and healthy? Henderson shares her mind and body tricks in this weeks Fitness Files interview.
NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?
JH: Fitness has always been a major part of my life. I enjoyed ballet throughout my childhood, then I played volleyball throughout high school. I think having fitness as I grew up kept me active in my adult life.
NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
JH: I like to keep a bag of mixed nuts or dried fruit in my bag along with a bottle of water.
NMF: At Nadia Murdock Fit our motto is “Train Your Mind, Change Your Body” so we must ask: How do you train your mind and stay motivated?
JH: I love feeling strong and healthy, so with that said, I think that is the way I have trained my mind.
NMF: How do you change your body? What are your fitness favorites?
JH: I notice a change in my body when I mix cardio with resistance training. I'm a strong believer in mixing up your workout regime, your mind and your body don't get bored that way!
