NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?
LM: Fitness was always something I wished I could get into when I was in high school and college but I was never motivated enough. It took me going through a life altering relationship and pregnancy and hitting rock bottom to realize that I had to start doing more for myself. I began working out because I thought just being fit in itself would solve my problems, but I didn't realize the mental changes that would occur. I would literally cry through my workouts in the beginning but everyday I got just a little strength back and every day I was learning to expand my capabilities. There was no going back once I realized the mental and spiritual peace working out provides.
NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
LM: I drink a protein shake called shakeology and love snacking on fruits and peanut butter. Eggs and avocados are also one of my favorite things to eat! I don't diet, I just make the healthiest choice I have available to me. It's the best thing and keeps me on track without the sense of deprivation!
NMF: At Nadia Murdock Fit our motto is “Train Your Mind, Change Your Body” so we must ask: How do you train your mind and stay motivated?
LM: Once I realized the power working out gives a person in terms of leadership, confidence, and appearance, I was hooked. I constantly remind myself that this is my life and this is my body and if I don't stay in control, some other person or force will. I want the absolute most for myself and risks do not scare me. I stay motivated because I know this is only improving the quality of my life and that's enough for me to never even consider quitting.
NMF: How do you change your body? What are your fitness favorites?
LM: I love doing home workouts and love the idea of mastering my own body weight. I also love the gym just as much and am in there a few days a week weight training and strengthening my core. I'm constantly posting videos on my page and blogs to show people just how easy it is to change yourself if you just stay consistent! I know there's people out there that look up to me that I inspire on the daily, and I want to always be that person for them. This is only the beginning!
